For the elegant cabin, the architectural firm employed charred timber which gives the design a smokey, rustic quality. Michael Doty Associates reach this effect through a traditional Japanese technique known as 'Shou Sugi Ban.' Naturally, the modern chalet boasts a fully glazed interior that is meant to take advantage of the breathtaking location. To complete the incredibly contemporary aesthetic, the modern chalet enjoys a restricted color palette that relies heavily on monochromatic and unobtrusive shades.
