Netflix Will Launch a Reduced Price Smartphone Subscription

Netflix has announced it will launch a mobile-only streaming plan, Netflix tested the service previously this year and has decided to open the program up to users. The mobile-only streaming plan will launch in India initially and will be a cheaper option than conventional Netflix subscriptions. The new cheaper plan option could increase subscription growth on the platform. Potential customers could be more willing to pay for a video streaming for a reduced price, especially if they plan on viewing on mobile devices anyway.

Netflix has not indicated any other locations that will be able to purchase the mobile-only streaming. However, the company has indicated it will use this launch to learn more about the streaming service. Netflix has a basic plan that streams in 480p video and it is expected that the mobile streaming will be similar quality.
