Voice assistant technology shows a lot of promise for healthcare purposes, which is something that a new service shown off at CES 2019 from MobileHelp and LifePod Solutions aims to make a reality.
The service works via the LifePod smart speaker and will connect users with the MobileHelp emergency response system to prevent individuals from not being able to access assistance when they need it most. Caregivers can configure the device to set up predetermined check-in times, reminders and more to ensure their loved one or patient is supported.
Speaking on the new MobileHelp and LifePod Solutions service, CEO of MobileHelp, Rob Flippo, said, "We know that more than 34 million US adults serve as unpaid caregivers to an adult over the age of 50 – and more than half of those receiving care reside in their own homes. LifePod's platform allows us to deliver the first fully-integrated, voice-enhanced emergency response system in a 'virtual caregiver,' designed to empower people who want to age in place and to provide peace of mind to their caregivers."
