The use of artificial lights and technology devices before bed is reported by many to cause disturbances to sleep, so the conceptual MLO Bedside Table Oil Lamp is designed to offer users a decidedly more analog way to solve this issue.
The lantern provides natural light that will help to promote melatonin production and encourage the person to relax in an old-fashioned way. The lamp is thus focused on three elements of the user experience including being meditative, behavioral and a smart device.
The conceptual MLO Bedside Table Oil Lamp is the design work of Diego Almaraz, Samantha Vizcaya and Bao Tu, and features a canopy that will slowly slide down over the flame to eventually extinguish it. This will act as a visual representation of how much time it has been used for and could even be used as an indicator of when it's time for bed.
