Mirage Onda Delivers 360-Degree Sound with an Upward-Firing Driver

Mirage Onda is a speaker concept designed by Andrea Ponti of Ponti Design Studio for Canadian audio brand Mirage. The design builds on Mirage's long-standing focus on omnidirectional sound by distributing audio throughout a room rather than toward a fixed listening position. Four woofers housed in the lower section handle bass frequencies, while an upward-facing midrange driver and dedicated tweeter sit beneath a removable magnetic grille. Diffusers positioned above and below the drivers help spread sound evenly in all directions.

Four aluminum pillars connect the upper and lower sections, creating a suspended structure that defines the speaker's silhouette. A rounded-square footprint, fabric-wrapped body and backlit touch controls shape the exterior. Removing the upper grille reveals the tweeter finished in Mirage's signature purple color. The speaker is presented in sand, charcoal and black finishes, each paired with the same architectural form.
