The incredibly popular Minecraft game benefits from taking place in a massive online universe. Since the groundwork of the game-world had already been laid, it was only a matter of time before that immersive environment was improved through the use of VR. Now, that VR promise has been delivered with the Minecraft game's release in virtual reality on the Oculus Rift.
The VR version of the notoriously addictive building game is currently only available on Windows 10 in Beta. However, the game has incorporated the Xbox One controller into its interface, since using a keyboard while wearing a VR headset would be exceedingly difficult. Though this is the game's first attempt at VR, the performance is smooth, with farther rendering distances and crisp visuals that make maximum use of the graphics card.
