Michael Worthington Paints Pictures Around Found Pennies

Most people think nothing of a penny when they see it on the street. Michael Worthington sees a penny on the street and paints a picture around it.

Michael Worthington is a New York City-based artists who paints pictures around found pennies. Each painting is done on a 4x4 inch square block and includes the date and city in which the penny was found.

The penny is of course the centerpiece of the painting, with the rest of the canvas being used to paint a picture of the penny's environment. After checking out Michael Worthington's work, I now see pennies in a whole new light.
