RogueRogue Uses a Lost-Wax Casting Process for its Wearable Art

RogueRogue is a Puerto Rico-based creative who boasts a line of metaphysical jewelry as pieces of wearable art on Etsy. The shop uses "cire perdue," or the lost-wax casting process, as a technique.

RogueRogue produces original metaphysical jewelry designs, in the form of third eyes or small hands, in wax. From then on, the mold gets casted and through a centrifugal process, the wax melts and the metal is injected into the mold created by the wax.

The designs are wonderfully simplistic, but carry a unique artistic quality—the lines and the surface are roughened up, which gives the earrings and the pendants a desired handmade aesthetic. In addition, some of RogueRogue's metaphysical jewelry incorporates small stone details.
