Expedition Motor Company, a premier restorer and custom builder of vintage G-Wagens, has introduced two new Mercedes-Benz Wolf commissions — the 250GD and the 620GE. These represent opposite ends of the company's restoration philosophy, with one preserving the platform's analog turbodiesel heritage and the other reimagining it with a modern V8 engine.
The 250GD, finished in Magma Beam Orange, features a Mercedes-Benz 2.5-litre OM605a turbodiesel paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It delivers over double the horsepower of the original naturally aspirated engine while retaining the authentic turbodiesel character and period-correct feel that purists cherish. The 620GE, finished in Ireland Mid Green Metallic, is powered by a brand-new GM 6.2-litre LS3 V8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It offers modern power delivery and convenience for drivers who prefer contemporary performance.
