Family Separation-Specific Support Apps

Bounce's Mental Health App Addresses Family Separation

Bounce is a mental health app with a specific focus—the service is designed to provide extensive support to teenagers whose parents are getting divorced. As family separation is a fairly common occurrence in the contemporary age and many children suffer precautions from it, a service such as this can be a game changer for how younger communities process familial trauma and become healthier adults in the future.

Bounce was created by Sophie Wilson, an Industrial Design and Technology student at Brunel University. The emerging designer relied on Robert Plutchik's Wheel of Emotions as a basis. Teenagers using this mental health app have the chance to identify their emotions through the schema and "follow a process that allows them to untangle their feelings and take action towards resolving them."
