Refillable Skincare Systems

Meld Forms Personalized Skincare Formulas with Refillable Ingredients

Meld is a refillable skincare system developed by British designer Beth Morgan Lundie as a graduation project at Central Saint Martins. The concept combines a digital platform with a reusable dispenser that blends skincare ingredients immediately before application. Users create a personal profile through the platform, which recommends formulas based on skin type, routines and skincare concerns while providing information about ingredients and their intended properties.

Formulas are supplied as individual ingredients packaged in biodegradable cartridges that can be composted after use. The cartridges are inserted into a reusable dispenser made from ceramic, stainless steel and natural rubber, which dispenses measured quantities onto a removable mixing lid for manual blending. The digital platform also allows users to adjust formulas over time by modifying characteristics such as texture, scent, hydration, weight and intensity.
