Fiber-Rich Private Label Foods

These Meijer Private Label Products Come in Over 300 Options

These new Meijer private label products have been added to the grocer's portfolio to help consumers meet their intake goals for fiber and protein.

The new products come in more than 300 varieties, which will make it easier for consumers to make healthy food choices without breaking the bank. The products include more than 120 Meijer-exclusive products that contain five-grams or more of fiber per serving and will thus help consumers to meet their recommended daily intake for fiber. The products will also enhance the brand's existing options that are protein-rich, which will now include more than 700 options with 10-grams of protein or more per serving.

Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer Don Sanderson spoke on the new Meijer private label products saying, "Both fiber and protein are great ways to support everything from gut health to mental health, and provide steady energy. It’s important to us at Meijer that we are offering our shoppers options that help them meet their health goals and are accessible on a budget, and that’s exactly what these products are designed to do.”

Affordable Functional Private-label
Expanding budget-friendly store brands that prioritize functional benefits like fiber and protein creates room for new value-driven formulations and branding models that undercut national labels.
High-fiber Product Proliferation
A surge in easily accessible high-fiber options across product categories signals potential for novel ingredient blends and processing techniques focused on gut-health positioning.
Protein-enriched Value Lines
Widespread availability of low-cost, high-protein items points toward opportunities in texture innovation and shelf-stable protein delivery systems tailored to mass-market consumers.

Industries Being Reshaped

Broadening private-label health offerings can reshape retailer assortment strategies and private-label margins by shifting customer loyalty away from premium brands.
Food Manufacturing
Demand for fiber- and protein-forward formulations indicates potential for specialized contract manufacturing and new ingredient supply chains optimized for cost and nutritional density.
Health and Wellness Technology
Integrating nutrition-focused product data into digital health platforms could enable personalized dietary recommendations linked directly to affordable store-brand options.
