Meijer and Instacart have announced a new partnership that will offer consumers access to an on-demand alcohol delivery service to increase the ease of shopping for libations. The announcement includes Meijer offering alcohol delivery from more than 180 store locations across Michigan, Ohio and Illinois, and will offer access to a variety of wines, beers and spirits. The service comes on the heels of many brands getting involved in alcohol delivery to accommodate increasing consumer interest in the service.
VP of Retail at Instacart Chris Rogers commented on the new Meijer and Instacart partnership saying, "We’re proud to deepen our partnership with Meijer, bringing its expansive alcohol selection online and giving customers even more access to Meijer’s one-stop-shop selection via same-day delivery. We know that alcohol e-commerce is a clear growth driver for our retail partners, which typically see their basket sizes increase by 25% with alcohol. We’re committed to serving as a retailer enablement platform and providing grocers with more ways to bring their entire store online as they continue to grow and meet the evolving e-commerce needs of their customers.”
