Meebits are a New NFT Project from Larva Labs

CryptoPunks creator Larva Labs is introducing Meebits as its newest NFT project and this time around, the avatars are not 2D but 3D. As Larva Labs revealed in a blog post, "If the Cryptopunks are an ideal 2D avatar for Discord, Twitter, and other social media, then we hope that the Meebits will be the 3D avatar for virtual worlds, games, and VR."
20,000 Meebits are set to be minted, and so users will not know which Meebits they get. However, there will be the chance for people to trade Meebits for Meebits. As such, this kind of marketplace takes money out of the equation and reminds of a simpler time of trading assets.
An owner of a Meebit will get an asset pack that includes a T-pose version of the avatar, and the 3D character can be used in games and virtual worlds that support humanoid avatars.
