Celebrity Chef-Inspired Kitchenware

Arçelik A.Ş brand Grundig recently partnered with famed Italian chef Massimo Bottura to come up with a new collection of kitchen appliances that boast modern designs and restaurant-quality builds. To get more insight on the collaboration, and to find out what inspired Bottura to work with Grundig, we sat down with him during Berlin’s IFA trade show.

With Bottura being the chef patron of Osteria Francescana, which was listed in the top five at the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards, he is known to have an obsession with quality that affects every project he takes on. This is clear from the resulting collaboration with Grundig, with the beautiful matte black appliances designed to reflect his powerful personality. The whole collection is outfitted with his signature and famous quote, “cooking is an act of love,” which is imprinted in a luxurious gold. This also highlights the shared value the chef and the brand have to respect food and provide solutions to excess food waste.

As Grundig reached out to Bottura with the intention of working alongside his non-profit organization, Food For Soul, he was happy to join with a company that shared his vision for change. When it came time to test the products in the kitchen, Bottura took a hands-on approach, placing the expectations he has on professional equipment that’s much steeper in price onto the consumer collection. Any time an appliance was brought to him, he tested it out himself in the Osteria Francescana kitchen until he was completely happy with it.

Grundig listened to Bottura, and was able to come up with appliances that honor his obsession with quality. The collection includes both a Power Blend and Hand Blender, Kitchen Mixer, Coffee Machine, and Toaster.
