The Maserati Alfieri Hints at the Future Luxury Car Designs

Italian luxury car manufacturer Maserati is in its centenary year and decided to mark the occasion by unveiling a spectacular new concept car, the Maserati Alfieri.

Named after Alfieri Maserati -- automotive engineer one of the Maserati brothers who started the company -- the car is strictly a concept and there is no intention to it being produced. Rather, it is described as “an homage to Maserati’s sporting heritage” and the “future of Maserati design."

The Alfieri’s external design is typical of the GT or Grand Tourer style reserved for luxury cars designed for long-distance driving. The car’s cabin narrows towards the rear, making its rear fenders stick out like a large animal’s haunches. The front grille is wide and toothy like a monstrous grin, and is low set.

The Alfieri’s interior is minimalist and elegant, and centers on a touchscreen display.
