Mark Giglio Puts a Quirky Twist on Carpentry

These cute works of art are miniature wooden structures created by Mark Giglio. Intricately designed, Giglio's pieces range from a variety of little trees to sun-worshiping shrines.

Mark Giglio plays with shapes uses bright colors to bring the pieces to life. For example, his cartoon pirate model sports bright yellow facial hair and cool blue pants with a matching eye patch. He also gives the pirate a pencil leg as a play off the usual wooden leg. His photographs are taken using similarly vibrant backgrounds to further the comic effect as well.

Mark Giglio's wooden characters are charming, but that's not all the artist does with his time. The featured video is a collaborative project taken on by Mark Giglio and four other artists to develop hand-painted rockers.
