The Manta Ray Mini Chair by Astuguevieille is part of a series of miniature wooden chairs covered in soft toys for CoutureLab. This whimsical chair is handcrafted from chestnut wood and soft toys. The wicker seat is covered with cuddly manta rays that are stuffed with beanbag beads. The rays feature a painted print to mimic the texture of a manta ray's skin.

Implications - The modern world is one where individuality and personal flavor is rapidly on the decline partly because of the lack of diversity in cellphones and music players as well as the sheep-like way consumers follow in each other's footsteps. As a result, people are longing for anything that makes them feel the slightest bit different from the masses. Home decor is an excellent place to start as diverse and out-of-the-box concepts emerge from furniture factories every day.
