Jiminy jillickers, it's manga food art! Graphic artist Mika Tsutai has crafted these daring and eye-catching works to highlight Japanese food favorites in a different light.
In this collection of manga food art, Tsutai places traditional Japanese delicacies like Udon noodles and sushi over comic panels that she herself drew. What's notable about these food pictorials is Tsutai's use of action lines to draw people's attention to the food itself rather than the images, and it makes for some hilariously dynamic and tasty results.
It would actually be pretty amazing if this unique idea was adapted into dishware and plate designs. Just imagine, a Japanese restaurant where all of the food's so good, it just jumps out at you like these manga food art pics.
