Marks and Spencer is expanding naturally sweetened cereals by reformulating its breakfast range with recognizable whole-food ingredients. The retailer is using fruits such as apples, sour cherries and figs to provide natural sweetness in place of flavorings, while removing more than 40 tonnes of sugar across the upgraded range. The first phase includes 30 new and improved products, including Matcha and Raspberry Overnight Oats and Triple Nut Muesli, alongside more high-fiber and wholegrain choices. M&S has also increased the variety of fruits, nuts and seeds used throughout the collection.
For M&S, the overhaul responds to consumer interest in recognizable ingredients while strengthening its position as a destination for everyday grocery staples. Updating established cereals alongside trend-focused new products can encourage both repeat purchases and discovery. The broader assortment also supports M&S’s strategy to expand its food business by offering more complete shopping options across core categories.
