Lowe's 'Iris' is a no-contract home security system that allows you to monitor your home remotely using your smartphone. The system connects to smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as security cameras and various other home security accessories. If any of the alarms are triggered, the app will call the police, and notify the home owner. The app also provides users with the option to cancel the police or fire department from being dispatched should an accident -- like burning a piece of toast -- trigger one of the alarms.

Lowe's Iris, has transformed itself from a desktop-heavy software to a handheld, user-friendly DIY home security device that provides peace of mind to home owners everywhere.
