The artist's latest project is a series of photographs meant to present familiar items in an ironic way. Whether capturing a sneaker sole's intricate pattern in 'CONVERSE' or spotlighting a pair of shadowy scissors in 'CUT HIM OFF,' LostAlison experiments with vivid object imagery that highly contrasts it 2D backdrops.
Drawing inspiration from popular culture and the idea of color triggering specific memories among viewers, LostAlison's captivating project was lensed during the COVID-19 pandemic in Montréal, Canada. Each of her portraits was shot with a 35mm lens and is representative of memories that are evoked through color, contrast and references to nostalgia.
