Heritage Revival Tableware

JW Anderson x Wedgwood Realize Lucie Rie’s Lost Jasperware Design

The JW Anderson x Wedgwood Lucie Rie collaboration brings to life a long-lost 1964 Jasperware design from the renowned potter. Originally never produced, the teacups and saucers now emerge in Wedgwood’s classic blue with crisp white inlays, handcrafted using traditional turning techniques. Alongside these revived pieces sit Jonathan Anderson’s Greek-inspired mugs, honored through sgraffito details and paired in bold two-tone color combinations.

All objects, including accessories like a washed-cotton cap and hybrid tote-shoulder bag, maintain a tension between historical reference and modern reinterpretation. The Lucie Rie pieces reflect her tactile matte finish and purposeful imperfections while the mugs draw from ancient forms. Proceeds from the collection support the Lucie Rie and Hans Coper Foundation to preserve pottery archives and offer creative scholarships. This collaboration underscores how design heritage can expand into new expression when craft, history, and contemporary voices meet.
