The Loop / Puck Trivets are certainly basic in their geometric forms, yet they cannot be described as simple. A simple tabletop protector might be a boring wooden board, a cork slab or a quilted square of fabric, but these mod items embody a bit of visual interest.
Daniel Emma could have easily closed the loop of the horseshoe-shaped object to create an effective stand for any pot, saucepan or skillet that's larger than the gap within the solid aluminum hoop; nevertheless, the duo decided that a completely rationalized form like a circle was not necessary to offer utility. Hot dishes can balance beautifully upon the U-shaped doodads with no risk of them touching your countertop.
The Loops come in black and bright yellow and the polished metal Puck serves as a base for smaller crockery.
