Fashion House Teapot Exhibitions

A Selection of Designers Craft the Loewe Teapots Exhibition

Fashion house Loewe has presented an exhibition which showcased what it's calling Loewe Teapots. There are 25 beautiful vessels that make up the show and these are designed by David Chipperfield, Wang Shu, and Patricia Urquiola. The playful range is vast with quirky designs and streamlined looks as well. The designers who participated in the show played around with the traditional teapot silhouette.

Chipperfield explained to Dezeen, "My interest in simple everyday objects, their familiarity and our fondness of them, informed the approach to my teapot. There's often a pressure in design to create the spectacular, but I think everyone has become too fascinated with novelty and formal innovation without meaning. I like the discipline of design: 'What should a teapot look like?' is an interesting question when everything is possible and my teapot makes references to precedent and typology."
