The Little Free Library Hosts National Little Free Library Day

The Little Free Library nonprofit organization has announced the inaugural National Little Free Library Day on May 17. This marks the anniversary of its 2012 incorporation as a charitable entity and kicks off Little Free Library Week from May 17 through May 23.

Activities for the National Little Free Library Day and the Little Free Library Week celebration include encouragement to share books through a Little Free Library, the availability of the LFLmobile app for locating nearby boxes, a global photo contest linked to the hashtag #LFLweek, downloadable graphics from Minneapolis artist Asahi Nagata, and a bingo game designed to encourage neighbourhood exploration.

The Little Free Library maintains a worldwide network of over 200,000 registered book sharing boxes across all 50 states, through which more than 500 million books have been shared since 2009.
