Elekta Debuts Its Linear Accelerator Technology, Named Evo
Elekta, a provider of radiation therapy systems, has formally launched a new model of its linear accelerator technology — dubbed Evo — within the Indian healthcare market. This follows the innovation's prior introductions in Europe and other global regions.
Evo integrates diagnostic-quality computed tomography (CT) scanning directly with the radiation delivery mechanism. This configuration is designed to facilitate a treatment methodology known as online adaptive radiotherapy, wherein treatment plans can be modified immediately prior to a session based on the patient's anatomy captured that day.
Elekta emphasizes that this technological combination, which is supported by artificial intelligence for image enhancement and contouring processes, is intended to address clinical challenges associated with treating complex and advanced-stage cancers.
