The punch serves to personalize the lamp, as no two people will have the exact same fist shape or punch. Punching the LEDs gives the lamp only half of its unique look. The other half of that look consists of the lamp's base, which at first looks uneven and maybe even unsteady. A closer inspection reveals that the Light Form lamp is made up of tons of triangles that give Young's design both a one-of-a-kind form and a stable foundation.
