The LifeBot 5 is a new telemedicine device developed by Phoenix-based LifeBot that is designed to connect medical personnel in the field to hospitals. The gadget is compact and lightweight, relatively speaking, weighing in at 15 pounds and standing only 11 inches tall. The LifeBot 5 is more or less a medical Swiss Army knife. It can record blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature and has a built-in electrocardiography (ECG) and can perform ultrasounds.
Although the LifeBot 5 is designed to be used by medical professionals from around the world, it will most benefit military medics. The device has audio and video capabilities, allowing medics in the field to communicate with their base, as well as with other medics equipped with LifeBot 5s.
