TV-Tweeted Dinner Invitations

Coca-Cola's 'Let's Eat Together' Ad Invites Diners Over with the TV

The 'Let's Eat Together' Coca-Cola campaign was devised around a staggering statistic: in Romania, "6 out of 10 people eat alone in front of the TV."

In order to reduce the number of people dining alone, Coca-Cola ran a special TV commercial that enabled Twitter users to live tweet during the commercial and invite someone to a meal when they used the "Let's Eat Together" hashtag. To get people out of the house and away from the TV, the participating tweeters were invited to have a meal prepared for them by a Romanian celebrity chef.

"Let's Eat Together" quickly became a trending topic, increased its Twitter following by 15% and got people out of the house and away from eating sad meals by themselves in front of a television set.
