Lena Bergström, a Swedish designer, has designed a candleholder made from steel that is crafted without producing carbon emissions.
This new candleholder design was made with the help of Swedish steelmaker SSAB, who has produced the first-ever fossil-free steel. The shape of the candleholder consists of softly pleated rays of steel that beam out from the center. Thus producing an interesting play of light. This design is a symbol of hope, meant to highlight the light at the end of the tunnel.
SSAB's factory is located in Oxelösund, Sweden, and hopes to convert its entire factory to fossil-free production by 2025. This first-ever fossil-free steel is a symbol of possibility. Bergström and SSAB hope this product will inspire many to join the green transition.
