Accomplishing yet another amazing collection of artwork using nothing but LEGO blocks, artist Chris McVeigh also known as Powerpig, has created a series of entertaining pop culture portraits.
Recreating the faces of famous figures such as Jake from Adventure Time, Bender from Futurama and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, the artist doesn't seem to be handicapped in the least bit by the limited 8-bit block shapes of the LEGO toys he uses. To further enhance the effect of a 2D drawn portrait, McVeigh includes LEGO-made markers in the background of each image, as though he simply drew the cartoon characters.
These pop culture icons made out of LEGO blocks are a huge hit on the artist's Twitter and Instagram accounts.
