During his time working on patterns and designs for fashion designer Alexander McQueen, artist Jacky Tsai was inspired to create a collection of floral leather skull sculptures.
Called 'Floral Skullptures,' the current collection is astounding with gigantic, larger-than-life works that completely transform any room into which they are placed, instantly becoming the center of attention. Every inch of the designs, including the eye sockets and nasal cavities, are covered in flowers wrought out of leather. Different tones of leather add depth and dimension to the skulls, some of which even have teeth. The cheerful blooms become eerie as they take on this macabre shape and the texture of the leather gives the skulls a rotting appearance.
These gorgeous floral leather skull sculptures are an interesting contrast of beauty and decay.
