Using a deep blue background, the Lauren Francescone Circles series leaves the viewer questioning what exactly it is that they are looking at.
Often people will stare at a painting and speak about all the things they read into it to impress those around them. With this Circle series, people will be looking at each other, not wanting to say what they see just in case no one else has noticed it. I'm talking about the not-so-subtle use of prophylactics as the subject.
While the title of the Lauren Francescone Circles series is innocent enough and a young mind might see something different, once you notice the condoms, as elegant and ethereal as they are, it is hard to interpret them differently.
