Putting beauty, social media and the power of Gaga to good use is the Lady Gaga Followers Dress project. The pop star partners with MAC Cosmetics to create a microsite that encourages users to spread the word on a line of lip products benefiting HIV and AIDS charities.
First users are told to upload a photo of themselves on the Viva Glam website, which will then be turned into a sequin along with all the other submissions. They are then prompted to spread the word through various social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. The higher the level of awareness they share, the bigger their sequin grows. The end product of the Lady Gaga Followers Dress will feature the fans faces through the sequins.
Wearing the gown at Paris Fashion Week, Gaga offers a way for her fans to be runway-ready while being part of a good cause.
