Scorched Scarlet Faces

KT Auleta's Beauty Film Explores Theatrical Red Makeup

Director KT Auleta captured models as they exited from the catwalk at the Viktor & Rolf Autumn/Winter 2011 fashion show in Paris. KT Auleta’s beauty film explores the theatrical red features created by makeup artist Pat McGrath and hair stylist Luigi Murenu.

In KT Auleta’s beauty film, the models seem to be scarlet-faced soldiers in training for a war against beauty. All of the models' faces are painted red, creating "a group to crusade" the designers' line. The models come together as a powerful fashionable force of warriors in the battlefield of beauty, which worked well with Viktor & Rolf's collection of armor-like silhouettes and styles.
