Potrero Medical, a California-based predictive health firm that leverages the power of artificial intelligence and data analytics to improve diagnosis of various severe diseases, has launched a high-tech kidney monitor that is designed to help clinicians take steps to ensure that patients with early-stage kidney injury who are at risk of enduring more severe problems can get the treatment they need.

The Accuryn Monitoring System makes use of a high-tech catheter that carries out the Furosemide Stress Test, a commonly used test that helps measure the likelihood of patients with early-stage acute kidney injuries progressing to severe injuries which would require more complex treatments and interventions such as dialysis. What makes this kidney monitor unique is the fact that it automates urine monitoring, allowing for real-time monitoring and data collection.

Available with upgraded companion software to enable more bespoke patient management, this kidney monitor aims to improve the timeframe of monitoring in order to arm clinicians with the most accurate and up-to-date information, enabling them to make lifesaving decisions.
