Grubhub was recently acquired by the Just Eat platform, in a deal totaling at $7.3 billion USD that is expected to close in the first financial quarter of next year,l. The two organizations will come together in what will be one of the biggest food delivery companies in the world. Grubhub and the Just Eat platform will now work to focus on a few key markets, including the United States, United Kingdome, Germany, and the Netherlands.
North American operations will now be operated by GrubHub's chief, Matt Maloney. The two organizations hope that the merger will make the company one of the few online delivery services to achieve profitability. Overall the acquisition will help Just Eat compete with other delivery services.
