Juxtaposing Material Furniture Series

Junya Igashami Designs a New Furniture Collection

Japanese architect Junya Igashami designed a new furniture collection that was introduced by the Belgian gallery Maniera. He is known for his simplistic design and elegant structures. The new capsule maintains this concept but also uses juxtaposing materials that are defined as 'harder.'

This includes steel, wood, leather, and rattan -- when used to form the furniture, it creates delicate and thin lines that contrast its form. The thin lines also create a form of light that follows through the silhouette. It starts with the Ame low glass table which appears to be floating off of the floor with stainless steel and glass materials. More notable items are the Bou Light designs which feature a table lamp and a table lamp.
