Jonathan Hobin has created a disturbing photo series called In the Playroom that focuses on what children are doing when no one is watching. The idea comes from the notion that media is everywhere and it saturates the minds of even children. The photos depict images of the 9/11 events, the Ku Klux Klan, American Idol and the Jonestown massacre.
Jonathan Hobin states that children will "explore things that they hear or see, whether or not they completely understand the magnitude of the event or the implications of their play." The photo series gives viewers a lot to think about and would make for a very interesting essay topic! Jonathan Hobin did a remarkable job portraying the fact that media is inescapable.
