Children and adults alike will be floored when laying eyes on the balloon sculptures of Jason Hackenwerth. He creates mammoth masterpieces that turn the typical party trick into something a lot more magical. Yet Jason Hackenwerth doesn't use magic to make his works of art. Instead, each one takes a lot of skill, patience and imagination to create.

What makes Jason Hackenwerth's art even more interesting is what they are modeled after: scientific organisms. He talks about one of his more elaborate creations to date, "I see this as a metaphor for the evolution for life and the unexpected ways we can transcend our greatest threats. My plan for Pisces is to create a complex spiral that will open into a huge seashell like form. This spiral will correspond with the dynamic with the motion of the universe – the double helix. It is the spiral from which all life is derived."
