Jason D’Aquino could be called a miniaturist -- he creates his works of art on an impeccably small scale and with great detail. Jason's latest collection of work features intricate drawings composed on old and used matchbooks.
Jason draws his inspiration for his miniature matchbook illustrations from pop culture, with a large amount of references to horror flicks, pulp fiction magazine covers, famous artworks and vintage artifacts.
What is impressive about Jason D'Acquino and his artwork is that he can produce illustrations with such detail on such a small surface.
The matchbooks can be purchased if you are ever in New Orleans at his shop in the French quarter, and he will also have his work on display at Art Basel Miami through the Red Truck Gallery.
