NASA Has Finished the Assembly of Its James Web Space Telescope
Daniel Johnson — September 6, 2019 — Tech
NASA has recently completed the assembly process for its James Web Space Telescope. The project was originally scheduled for 2018 but was set back due to a complex construction process. Currently, the James Web Space Telescope is the most intricate telescope ever created.
The telescope was designed to replace the famous Hubble telescope. The new model will feature a five-layer sun shield, which was included to protect the telescope from the sun. The next steps for the project will include electrically connecting the two halves together, and then subsequently testing the connection.
The telescope is now scheduled to launch in 2021, where it will be used to take information from distant celestial bodies. The new telescope will be able to view material both inside and outside of our galaxy.
