Future-Forward Football Stadiums

HOK Debuts Plans for the Renovation of the Jacksonville Stadium

HOK recently showcased its plans for the renovation of the Jacksonville stadium and the direction the architecture studio is taking is future-forward, both in terms of state-of-the-art equipment and visual appeal.

A key focus of the renovation of the National Football League stadium is the concourse. HOK is tasked with expanding this area and the studio is planning to amplify the floor plan of the concourse to four times its current width. A large mirror band will wrap around the exterior of the structure, "widening at points to create a large bulbous facade." In addition to new restaurants and what HOK has dubbed "interactive elements" in the concourse, the architecture studio is introducing some sustainability-driven design decisions—like ample airways for temperature management. The renovated Jacksonville stadium will also feature a 'subtropical' park..
