Society-Reflective Spring Fashion

YONGHAO XIE Presents Into a Better World for the SS23 Season

Chinese fashion designer YONGHAO XIE presents his new designs made for the Spring/Summer 2023 season entitled 'Into a Better World.' Much of his work highlights the chaos of the world as the main inspiration, described by himself as work that channels “darkness, authentic and contemporary" themes.

Clothing is the base canvas that highlights and reflects today's social and environmental issues that push for a more positive future. This season, the capsule spotlights nuclear pollution, war, and electronic waste. There are natural colors that resemble flame and inferno along with deconstructed prints and design details. This features torn-up newsprint, shapes of animals flying off into the darkness, and even a long coat that is detailed with a screaming face.
