Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control is a technology, developed by Honda, that is capable of predicting the chance that a car might cut into your lane -- up to five seconds before it occurs. Careless lane-changes regularly lead to accidents, and this technology may help prevent the same.
The technology uses a camera and radar to detect neighboring vehicles and uses an algorithm to asses the chances of vehicles cutting into your lane. If a motorist begins to dangerously wander into your lane, the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control adjusts your speed to help prevent a collision.
The technology is designed to react smoothly so that drivers aren't caught by surprise. In other words, mild braking is applied initially and an icon lights up on the dashboard so that driver knows that's happening.
