Social Music Communities

The Instagram 'Music' Account Highlights Music From Around the World

The launch of Instagram Music marks the first official "community" to be established on the social networking site. The @Music account created by Instagram will be a place to highlight popular and rising talent from around the world. This won't be limited to just artists either—Instagram has expressed that this means music photographers, album illustrators, fans and instrument makers will also get their chance in the spotlight.

If you're interested in following the account, you can expect six posts per week from one of three series: #LocallySourced, #DoubleTrack or a #15SecondLesson video. The account is so new, there are only four posts, but nearly 50,000 followers. So far, Questlove and Ikkyu Nakajima are two artists and avid Instagram users that have been featured on the account, which is bound to give them even more great exposure.
