Japanese designer Chikara Ohno of design company Sinato has recently designed a light installation for Kaneka Corporation called Infuse.
The exhibit features an entire sea of OLED beams, Organic Light-Emitting Diodes. This diode emits light in response to the presence of an electric current. In actuality, these diodes are generally used to create digital displays in devices like TVs or computer screens. However, Ohno has created a utopia with these lights brilliantly incorporating fog and soft lights to enhance the environment of the Milan studio. Inspired by the possibilities of the panels, Ohno has created an entirely novel and ethereal dimension to this experience as guests are literally immersed in the art installation as they walk in and out of the fog. The installation starkly contrasts the hard, industrial compound with an almost heavenly, misty atmosphere.
