Accor Adds Five Verdi Hotels to Its Handwritten Collection

Accor is expanding the 'Handwritten Collection' with five Verdi Hotels properties, offering travelers character-led stays that preserve each hotel's local identity. The franchise agreement starts in November 2026, moving Verdi into Accor's curated upscale umbrella while keeping the brand's independent feel.

The first hotels are in Malta, Portugal and Tunisia, with two more planned for Hungary and the Czech Republic. That spread gives the collection a wider footprint across Europe and North Africa without turning the properties into standardized copies of one another.

Handwritten Collection already has a portfolio of more than 50 hotels in 22 countries, and adding Verdi broadens its reach with another set of locally distinct addresses. The move strengthens Accor's position with owners who want global distribution and loyalty support without losing a hotel's own personality.
