The Iceberg Sofa expresses a different sort of approach to emulating natural forms in design. It is common to see organic inspiration translating to very fluid shapes; meanwhile, this piece of furniture embodies all sorts of flat planes, slopes and straight edges.

The very name of the Noon Studio chesterfield will tell you from what earthly phenomenon this project was influenced, and then it's rather sensical that such sharpness of geometry should be present in the design. Of course, since it is supposed to be a cozy couch, these flat surfaces were treated to thoughtfully soft arrangements. There are no noticeably abrupt changes in incline between adjacent cushions, making the transitions smooth for the sitter. The padding of the Iceberg Sofa may also look rigid, but it's actually quite spongy to the touch.
